We are very excited to have Granger here for a week. He is on his way to BYU for the summer. It has been wonderful to learn about his mission. What a great young man!

Our trip to Utah

Rick and I went to Utah for James' and Liz's graduations and wanted to share some photos from out trip! Deena hosted a baby shower for Liz at her home! Thanks so much for all you and Tom and your family have done for James and Liz over the years! They're so lucky to have lived near you!

This is Liz's sister, Emily with Deena. Emily did the food for the shower and it was DELICIOUS!!
Who are those two guys??!! This is at Liz's graduation ceremony.
Yea, she's a graduate!
This is Liz and her mom, Michelle. Don't they look a lot alike??!!
After the baby shower, we saw a new side of Jake when helium was introduced!! Jen just giggled and giggled!
Liz and some of her friends at the shower! We love you, Amanda!!!
Grandma surprised us and came for the baby shower!! It was good to see her!
Father and son!
James graduated a week before Liz. This is Gma and Gpa Smith who were there too.
It's a BOY!! James and Liz had an ultrasound and it's definitely a boy! Who do you think he looks like?
We did a quick trip up to Rexburg to visit AnnMarie and Andrew. They're stylin' their cowboy boots in this shot!

Elder Cory Horton Letter 4-5-10

Not much time,
Good news though.
April 11th we're baptizing Elwood and Jessica in the Belmont Chapel. I'll probably baptize someone and Elder Walters the other. It's amazing to see them changing. I don't know how much I've said. Elwood is 19, works at a bakery and is way smart. He can really see the blessings of the church and he's way excited. Jessica is so ready, she feels the spirit and knows that this is what she needs to do. She's 16, works way hard, and is hilarious. Her inactive Father even came to a session of Conference "extra," that we weren't expecting. The family is so supportive and it'll be amazing. We also have a date set for Rueben, but we've got to meet with him this week to make sure he's keeping up on reading and praying.

The ward is amazing, three new things I've learned about eating in this ward this week. #1, where there is a gathering of any kind, there will be food. #2 when someone says, "Gustarian comer un poquito?" (would you like eat a little?) they mean a full two course meal. #3 It all tastes good.

I love it here. The work is progressing. We're setting and reaching goals. The Spirit really works in us. I've felt it and I know it's what will change the world.

I love all of you,
more to come next week.

Elder Horton,

Let's do it!

I hope this will be a way to keep in better touch with each other. I'm excited. I miss everyone and would really love to hear how you are all doing! Love Deena

Newsletter Alternative!

Deena and I have been missing our family newsletter and hearing from the family on a somewhat regular basis. I've recently gotten into blogging and think this would be a good replacement for the newsletter.
You can write when you want and add photos and videos.
We love you all and since we're so spread out, this seems like a good way to keep in touch. I'll send instructions on how to post to the blog, but if you have questions or problems, just let me know and I'll help!!
We look forward to keeping in touch better throughout this year and for many years to come!!
